Management changes at UK Sires
by Simon Gee on 02 April 2024.
We are pleased to announce the following changes to the management team at UK Sires.
After forming the company in 2002 Rob Wills has decided to retire from his position as an Executive Director at UK Sires. Rob, with his passion and commitment, has been the driving force behind the success and growth of UK Sires over the past 22 years and will be missed. We thank him for his tireless and dedicated service and wish him and his wife Sue a happy retirement.
Steve Oultram will continue as a director but will take a lesser role in the day-to-day running of the business. Steve has been a practical and assured presence on the UK Sires board for many years and will assist in the transition to a new management team.
These are new and exciting times at UK Sires and as part the response to the challenges that lie ahead a new Management Team has been appointed. This consists of:
Derek Perry – Operations Manager
Derek joined the team in June 2018 as Stores Manager. Since that time he has progressed to Operations Manager with a particular focus on import and export logistics post Brexit. Derek has a background in Logistics and Transport in the Agriculture industry.
Paula Curtis – Finance and HR Manager
Paula joined the company in 2013 as an Accounts Assistant having completed her AAT qualification, became Company Secretary in 2015 and a was appointed as a Director in 2018. Paula’s key responsibility is the day to day running of the accounts department (and ensuring everyone has enough cake!)
Megan Povey – Sales Director
Megan joined the company in 2016 as a Breeding Advisor, in 2018 became Sales Manager and in 2021 appointed a Director. Megan’s main responsibilities are to support the sales team and look after the company’s key accounts.
Derek, Paula and Megan will be in charge of the day to day running of the business from 01 April 2024.
